If you’re keen to try an open water swim but don’t know where to start, the 250 distance is ideal, and is also a great introductory event for younger swimmers age 8 years + (2025 Standard price £19).

A great introduction to outdoor swimming. Equivalent to around 32 lengths of a 25m pool. Average completion time 20min. Entrants must be 12 years + (2025 Standard price £39).
2025 Early bird Entry £35
Suitable for swimmers of all abilities. Equivalent to 64 lengths of a 25m pool. Average completion time 40 min. Entrants must be 16 years + (2025 Standard price £44).
2025 Early bird Entry £42
Perfect event for open water swimmers looking for a longer challenge. Equivalent to around 125 lengths of a 25m pool. Average completion time 1hr 15min. Entrants must be 16 years + (2025 Standard price £56).
2025 Early bird Entry £45
Suits experienced swimmers looking to go that little bit further. Equivalent to around 200 lengths of a 25m pool. Swimmers must be able to swim 5k continuously & unaided within 2.5 hours. Entrants must be 16 years + (2025 Standard price £64).
2025 Early bird Entry £78
Suitable for regular swimmers who are capable of taking on longer distances. Anyone who enters should be able to swim 10k continuously & unaided within 4.5 hours. This swim will be 6 laps of the standard 1 mile course. Entrants must be 18 years + (2025 Standard price £98).
The Great North SwimRun is an opportunity to ditch the roads and the pool; limber up and embrace an off-road, open-water island-hopping adventure over a Short, Middle or Endurance distance.

Great North SwimRun is an opportunity to ditch the roads and the pool and embrace an off-road, open-water island-hopping adventure! Doing a SwimRun is a fantastic opportunity to immerse yourself in the great outdoors and experience a variety of terrain. Our SwimRun will guide you through the spectacular scenery of Windermere in the Lake District, each one more breathtaking than the last.
The location at Brockhole on Windermere, in the heart of the Lake District is stunning. The land of Wordsworth and Wainwright, you’ll find gorgeous scenery, incredible wildlife and a rich cultural heritage. Brockhole comes alive on Great North Swim weekend, with fun for the whole family including outdoor activities and adventure play, local food and drink stalls, shopping and a warm welcome for four-legged friends.
