Take on the British Gas Great North Swim ½ Mile Wave
Worried about swimming a mile or not old enough to enter the mile event? Then the British Gas Great North Swim ½ Mile Wave is the answer!
Entrants must be aged 12 and above to enter - perfect for those either daunted by a mile outdoor swim or for those under 16-years-old.
You could swim this event as a family - children and parents - or use it to test yourself swimming outdoors. 800m is an ideal distance to experience outdoor swimming in all its splashing glory.
The event will start and finish in the same location as the one mile swim.
Wetsuit only event.
