Strathclyde Country Park

About Strathclyde Country Park

Strathclyde Country Park will provide the setting for the second staging of the British Gas Great Scottish Swim.

Situated in North Lanarkshire in the heart of central Scotland, Strathclyde Country Park lies in 450 hectares of countryside in the picturesque valley of the River Clyde.

Mature woodlands, rough wetlands, wildlife refuges and beautiful open parkland all surround Strathclyde Loch and provide a stunning backdrop to the numerous major sporting events that take part in the park.

Strathclyde Country Park is firmly established as one of Scotland’s leading centres for outdoor recreation and is one of the chosen venues for the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
